"A Day in
the Life of..."
Stephanie Rabon's Class
What activities do you complete in a normal day? How do you spend your time? Ms. Rabon's Math Intervention students explored these and many more questions regarding their daily schedules. The "A Day in the Life of..." project requires students to write a 24-hour schedule of their day and categorize the activities they complete. The students then make proportions relating each category's time to the total number of minutes in a day. Next, they make percents for each category and find the number of degrees in a circle for each piece of the pie. Finally, circle graphs are drawn and students see the results of how they spend their time. This project is one of the many educational projects Ms. Rabon's class completes each nine weeks.
