MAGNOLIA BOARD OF EDUCATION

BOARD MEETING MINUTES

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of Magnolia School District Number 14 was held in the board room of the Administration Building March 10, 2008.  Board members present were Mr. Mike Waters, president;  Dr. Mark Bryan, vice-president; Mr. William Watson, secretary; Mr. Truman Young and Dr. Randy Hayes.  Dr. John H. Moore, superintendent, was present.  The following business was transacted:

·  The Board approved the February 10, 2008, Regular Board Meeting Minutes. 

·  Peggy Comer, business manager, reviewed the February 2008 Financial Report.

·  The Board approved a Summer 2008 Mathematics Enrichment Program to be held at Magnolia Junior High School June 16-27, 2008.  . 

·  The Board adopted Secondary Social Studies and K-7 Arkansas History Textbooks.  Kim Wyrick, curriculum coordinator, presented selection recommendations, as selected by the Secondary Textbook Committee. 

·  The Board approved the 2008-2009 School Calendar, as recommended by the Personnel Policies Committee and voted by certified staff following the presentation of the calendar by Scott Nipper.

·  The Board approved reemployment of recommended certified personnel for the 2008-2009 school year.

·  The Board accepted retirement and resignations and approved employment. 

·  Dr. Moore gave the Superintendent’s Report.
