A regular meeting of the Board of Education of Magnolia School District Number 14 was held in the board room of the Administration Building September 10, 2007. Board members present were Mr. Mike Waters, president; Dr. Mark Bryan, vice-president; and Mr. William Watson, secretary. Mr. Greg Rich and Mr. Truman Young were absent.

Budget/Annual Financial Report 2006-07
The
Board approved the proposed 2007-08 Budget and Annual Financial Report 2006-07,
as presented by Peggy Comer, business manager.
Report from
Principals on Opening of 2007-2008 School Year
High
School Principal Roger Loper, Junior High Principal Chris Hurley, Central
Principal Ethel King, East Side Principal LaNita Talley, West Side Principal
Haley Beavert and Pre-Kindergarten Principal Lynnetta Roberts presented an
update and summary of events in their respective buildings on opening of the
2007-2008 school year. This is a part of the Annual Report to the Public, and
the report will be published in the local newspaper. All principals reported
that school had gotten off to a good start.

The Board heard the Annual Report to the Public as presented by Donna Garrett,
special programs coordinator; Nancy Lewis, curriculum coordinator; Kim Wyrick,
curriculum coordinator; Kittena Bell, K-12 mathematics coordinator; and Scott
Nipper, public relations/ testing coordinator.

Adequate Yearly Progress Report
Scott
Nipper, testing coordinator, reviewed the 2007 Adequate Yearly Progress School
Improvement Report for the
Magnolia
School District.
Resolution
Adding Softball Field to Master Facilities Plan
The Board approved a Resolution that the construction of a softball field be
added to the 2007-2008 Five Year master Facilities Plan.

The Board approved the Softball Field be built behind the High School Arena.
Personnel
The Board accepted resignations and approved employment.
Rescheduling
Dates of Regular Board Meetings
The Board voted to reschedule the dates of the regular October board meeting to
October 2 and the regular November board meeting to November 5.
