Magnolia Public Schools Foundation Awards Classroom Grants to Enhance Student Learning
Magnolia, AR – The Magnolia Public Schools Foundation (MPSF) recently awarded multiple grants to educators across the district to fund innovative classroom projects that support student learning and personal growth.
At East Side Elementary, teachers received a $1,400 grant for the “Hats On for Good Character” initiative. This project provides K-2 students with tangible rewards for demonstrating good character traits. Through this program, students engage in activities that help them better participate in their community. At Central Elementary, Lindsey Roberson, librarian at Central Elementary, was awarded a $650 grant to create an engineering makerspace in the school library. The makerspace allows students to collaborate, share ideas, and use critical thinking skills to design their own projects, enhancing STEM learning in a hands-on environment. At Magnolia Middle School, Kayla Sharp-Estep, a physical education teacher at Magnolia Middle School, received a $2,500 grant to purchase equipment that promotes lifelong physical activity. The new resources allow all students to participate in game play and support the development of healthy lifestyle habits. At Magnolia High School, Keri Hamilton, Christy Owen, and Katy Nix, received a $2,500 grant to provide students with practical life skills. The project offered hands-on sessions in community service and career readiness, including topics such as flower arranging, balancing checkbooks, meal planning, crocheting, baking, automobile care, and more.
