Magnolia High School Band Seniors Awarded Scholarships from the University of Monticello
Magnolia, Arkansas — Several Magnolia High School Band seniors were recognized for their musical excellence on Saturday, March 14, during the ASBOA Region III Clinic, when Dr. Erik Richards, Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Monticello, visited with students and extended scholarship offers.
The following Magnolia seniors were awarded band scholarships:
Zac Wilson
Auzy Simmons
Ashlyn Gulley
Kearthur Brantley
Yuliana Sanchez
These students were collectively offered scholarships totaling a potential $144,000 over the course of their college careers. Individual awards range from $3,000 to $5,000 per semester, renewable for up to eight semesters, with the possibility of extension pending approval from the Director of Bands.
Students who receive band scholarships are not required to major in music, allowing them to pursue a wide range of academic disciplines while continuing to perform in university marching and concert band programs.
The Magnolia School District congratulates these outstanding seniors and looks forward to their continued success both academically and musically.
