Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship The mission of the Arkansas Trucking Association is to protect, promote and serve the collective interests of the trucking industry in Arkansas. The ATA Maintenance & Technology Council exists to focus on these specific areas of the industry. Carl Tapp was a founding member and the first chairman of the Council. To continue Carl’s legacy of empowering the next generation of technicians, it is our intent to provide assistance for young, bright minds to pursue a path to success in our industry, an industry that has certainly provided those successes for all of us. It is because of his passion and commitment to our industry and its technicians that the Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship Fund was created in 2017. The Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship Program supports aspiring techs in their education and certification pursuits at Arkansas institutions that produce workforce-prepared diesel technicians. The 2024 Carl Tapp Technician Scholarship applications are now open. https://www.arkansastrucking.com/councils/maintenanceandtechnology/tech-scholarship

Mrs. Fish's Computer Science classes enjoyed a day of computer science fun on Thursday, February 8th. Computer Science Specialists from all over the state came down and helped run a day of physical computing using the raspberry pi computer, circuits, LED bulbs and even held a hackathon for students to compete in. Students created a circuit to light an LED bulb, a game to calculate speed, and an etch-a -sketch using circuits and the raspberry pi. In the hackathon students solved puzzles, as well as riddles online to find a flag (the answer). Students also completed some physical challenges such as lock picking to get the flag for points. The team with the most points won!. It was a fun filled day to explore all things Computer Science!
